Cathay Photonics invented the technology of depositing an ultra-thin layer of sapphire onto a softer substrate, such as quartz and chemically strengthened glass, for applications in cover-glass of the electronic devices. They are the champion of the 44th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva.
